Camp Ronald McDonald at Eagle Lake

Clark's Memorial Page

William Nuschler Clark III
aka Clark
March 1993 – May 2007

Clark was a dog that everyone will remember.

Summer after summer, he was the most asked about staff member at Camp Ronald McDonald. He touched the heart and soul of every camper, volunteer and staff member that came on site. A mellow dog with most compassionate eyes you ever saw, bringing love and joy to all. Even those who were intimated with his size came to realize this was a gentle giant.

He loved to beg for food and subsequently became the 14th rule at camp (Don't feed Clark!)... yet the begging was endearing and often a way he bonded with campers. He enjoyed being outdoors, especially the lake, and spent many afternoons swimming with the campers. Many campers requested Clark come by their cabin at night for the good night pet. He made rounds to the health station to be sure all was well there. There was no area, building or room that wasn't in Clark's domain; but he knew not to go into the kitchen!

To watch him hang out with all our campers and see the affect a black lab could have on the non-verbal, the hearing impaired, the emotionally crushed or the cognitively impaired was truly magical.

Clark, thank you for the best 14 years!
You will be missed!
